Dating Advice For Women - Easy Opening Lines to Start a Conversation

July 2nd, 2009 by johncampbell

Did you ever see a man in the grocery line who you wanted to talk to? Maybe he was in the line at the bank or even at a friend’s party. You struggle to come up with something to say. It feels like you can hear the clock ticking while you pray that your brain will finally kick in and come up with a clever question. Well, one thing I can tell you is that it doesn’t have to be hard at all. In fact it can be amazingly simple and easy.

Here’s what happened to me this week. I was at the gas station standing by the pump waiting for it to register so I could fill my tank. On the other side of the pump was a man in his 40’s, who poked his head between the pumps from the other side, smiled and brightly said, “hello.” Yeah, I was a little surprised. Not the usual way things go at the gas pump. But I said hello and smiled back.

Mr. Gas then moved past the pump to be in plain view. He smiled again and said, “Can you believe it’s October 1st already? I just heard on the radio how many days it is until Christmas!”

As you can see, this is not rocket science, but it did work. I chatted with him briefly. It was a harmless, friendly exchange. Perhaps had I shown more interest, he might have pursued me further, but I’m not available.

The simplest comment or question about nothing much at all is the best way to break the ice. Don’t’ strain your brain rummaging around for a super funny, clever line. forget that. Too much pressure. And your inner critic will most likely shoot down anything you do manage to come up with any way.

I’ll give you a few starters so that you can get the idea:

- What a beautiful day!
- I love this time of year
- Doesn’t the air smell good today?
- The sky is really blue today
- Are you a Steelers fan? Did you see the game last night?
- What a nice shirt
- I’m so glad it’s Friday

You could come up with a few of these right? Keep a few in your mental back pocket so when you come in contact with men, you’ll have something to say without hanging back. You must strike while the iron is hot so to speak. Hesitating will usually mean he got away before you uttered a syllable.

Most importantly, don’t pressure yourself into thinking this will turn into something. It’s just flirty conversation and great practice. The more you do it, the more comfortable you’ll get with the process. And it can actually be fun!

I do know a man who met his wife in the grocery store this way. She asked him to reach something on a top shelf for her. (One of my favorite tricks since I’m shy of 5 feet!) Now they’ve been married for more than 20 years.

Just start talking to people. Friendly people who are comfortable with themselves are very attractive and approachable. Make it easy for men and give it a whirl.

Hello Kitty Crafts for Kids for a Meowing Cat Good Time

June 30th, 2009 by johncampbell

Hello Kitty is becoming more and more popular in the United States. While it was created and manufactured in Japan, the popular influence of this brand has since gone all over the world. If your child loves Hello Kitty, then she will likely love to do crafts and projects based on this theme. Not only will she have fun making things that relate to something that she loves, but it will also keep her busy, not to mention creative and imaginative.

The shape of Hello Kitty’s head is very distinctive. Because of this, a lot of the crafts revolving around this character use this particular shape. For example, if your daughter is heavy into baking and learning how to cook, you can make a Hello Kitty shaped cake. All you need to do is bake a regular slab cake. Once it has cooled, cut out the shape of the character’s head from the cake. Next, have your daughter frost the cake so that it resembles her favorite character. This will be a fun way to teach cooking basics. It will also be a lot of fun to eat!

Another thing you can do with your daughter is make felt Hello Kitties. Simply pick up different colored felts, such as white and pink. Then, let your daughter cut out the shapes that comprise the look of Hello Kitty. When she glues them together, she will have her very own rendition of her favorite character. She can then put this up on her wall, or you can place it on the refrigerator.

Affiliate Revenue - The Importance Of Diversification

June 29th, 2009 by johncampbell

A lot of things happen to businesses. Some go out of business because of some tragedies beyond their controls; endowment sale because of poor business practices. A lot of things can go wrong with a business and if it does, your affiliate revenue will suffer if you’ve put all your affiliate efforts in data recovery hard drive one basket.

No matter how great a product is, it will surely have, at least, a distant rival. This rival might not be able to compete on tax attorney but it might be able to compete on price, ease of use, customer support and so on.

It is to your advantage if you have more than one recommendation for any type of product or service. It makes your work slightly harder since I recommend you experience effexor xr product or service first hand before recommending it. That is the only way you can tell which is the best, the second and the least.

Now when you recommend just one product, it becomes more difficult not to make it a sales pitch. If you talk about a type of product that provides a solution to a certain problem and then give your readers a few options, it is easier to do an editorial review.

Furthermore, it strengthens your preferred product when you say something like “…of these three, I find … to be the best by a wide margin.”

Yes, some people will go for the second and even the third. But don’t you get a commission for all three?

If any thing should go wrong with one of the merchants, your boat might rock but it will not sink because you diversified. And if your niche lends itself to other forms of monetization (like selling a service, placing Adsense ads, etc), do it. That will be building your business on a solid rock.

Mission Statements - The Good Ones Are Short

June 26th, 2009 by johncampbell

This the second of my two part series on creating Vision and Mission Statements and will cover crafting an effective Mission Statement.

Should a Mission Statement be a detailed document that clearly describes the organization? I once saw a statement that was only slightly less lengthy and detailed than the company’s annual report. It was a gold mine of information about what the company did and how each step was accomplished. It laid out the company’s values and described each goal. It was essentially the entire strategic plan (plus some). How many of the company’s employees knew the mission statement? Not many! If you have a Mission Statement like that, Linden it off the walls and your web site, shred the paper it’s printed on and put it on a compost pile. It might help grow flowers, but it won’t help grow your business. Though the Mission Statement is a critical part of the strategic plan, it is not the strategic plan.

Every organization needs a basic statement that clearly describes for its members, suppliers and customers why the organization exists. The statement expresses the organization’s purpose but to be effective it must be easy for all to remember, using a limited number of meaningful, well chosen words.

Everything else in your strategic plan will support the mission statement, so don’t be shy about stating the true purpose of the organization. If you are a business, then profit is most likely a reason you exist. Some businesses try to craft a Mission Statement that glosses over or even ignores the fact that they exist to make money. When you’ve drafted your mission statement, ask yourself this: “Will this grow the bottom line and if not, is it something for which I’m willing to sacrifice profit?” If your organization is subordinate to a parent organization, make sure your Mission Statement is in line with the parent’s mission. That doesn’t mean you have to use the same statement. Ideally, yours should represent a segment of theirs.

There are many ways to approach development of a Mission Statement but I’ve found one to be most effective. First, gather your leadership team to take advantage of expertise from each area of the organization. This team approach will not only ensure that the Mission Statement is all-inclusive (not lengthy but complete) but will also cement your leadership team’s involvement which will pay off when it’s time to communicate the strategic plan to the organization.

Have each member of the leadership team write down several things their particular part of the organization does. These should be short two or three word phrases. Then, have each member state their first phrase. Continue around the group until everyone has exhausted their list.

The next step takes a little practice. The team must agree to group the individual phrases into categories. There will always be an outlier or two, but most of them will naturally fit into a few general categories. You must deal with the outliers first. Discuss among the team members where the outliers might fit or whether they should be a category of their own. Once this is determined, you will have a smaller group of categories. It’s these categories that will provide the basis for the mission statement.

The categories are then molded into the mission statement. Avoid the temptation to include involved descriptions. Instead carefully choose words that define the categories. This is another place where the team approach is an advantage. Remember, the ideal Mission Statement should convey the organization’s mission in a way that everyone involved will remember. The Mission Statement is useless if everyone in the organization can’t recite it (or at least get close) and, more importantly, explain their part in accomplishing that mission.

Does your Mission Statement accurately convey the mission of the organization in a clear and concise way? Do the members of the organization really understand the mission and their part in it’s success?

It does not matter how cold the weather is outside, especially for those individuals that have a serious appetite for the outdoor lifestyle and cannot seem to get enough. These thermals are designed to keep you comfortable, no matter what the prevailing conditions may be. When it is especially cold, they may combine different thermal weights to achieve the first two layers of your overall layering system. Lightweight thermals are the perfect base layer for early spring turkey hunts and the expedition weights are great for late fall to early winter deer hunting. Raffle Ideas for Fundraising

June 24th, 2009 by johncampbell

People enjoy getting a chance to win something, so here are a some easy fundraiser raffle ideas to boost your fundraising efforts. Your raffle can be an inexpensive ticket for a prize drawing or a $100 ticket for a big prize such as a big screen television or a new car.

The basics of a raffle fundraiser are quite simple. Your costs are limited to the ticket expense and purchasing the prizes. Often times, local merchants will donate items or offer special discounts to nonprofits or school groups.

As with any fundraiser, the better the items offered, the more funds you raise. Your fundraising raffle can be of short duration or have tickets for sale for a month or more.

It all depends on how much you are trying to raise and what type of raffle you conduct.

Get Publicity

Publicity is the key element of a fundraiser raffle, particularly when offering an expensive grand prize. Issue a press release and make sure it reaches the appropriate persons at local media outlets such as newspapers, radio stations and local television.

Also get the word out through your newsletter and website as far in advance as possible. Aim to build excitement and anticipation with your supporters for the prizes to be offered.

Assign various aspects of ticket sales to as broad of a base as possible. By avoiding having one or two people try to handle everything, you’ll reach a much larger number of prospects.

Door Prizes

Everybody loves winning a door prize at an event, so keep that in mind when deciding how many prizes to give away.

Be sure to sell raffle tickets at the door as that is the prime time for an impulse buy.

Keep your prize expense to roughly one-third of your projected revenue.

Automobile Drawing

A new car raffle is always a huge draw because it appeals to almost every adult. Because of the prize expense, you’ll need to decide the best balance between ticket prices and total revenue.

I’ve seen car raffles priced anywhere from $20 to $100 with proportionately more tickets needing to be sold when prices are lower. In this example, five times as many $20 tickets need to be sold.

Multiple Prizes

Having multiple prizes increase the chances of winning, but more importantly, it also increases the chance that people will buy a ticket or even multiple tickets.

The psychology behind providing multiple prizes is proven to increase participation because people are more likely to consider the odds more in their favor. There is also a belief that having various prizes also increases the chance of having one that appeals strongly to almost anyone.

Among the most popular prizes are big screen TVs, CD players, iPods, gift certificates, spa visits, and weekend getaways.

50/50 Raffle

Here you are doing a door prize raffle, but the prize is half the ticket sales. It certainly simplifies things and most people like the idea of winning cash.

A 50/50 raffle works great at sporting events such as football or basketball games, but it can also be used at any type of event.

Cash Calendar Raffle

This raffle idea combines a calendar sale with a chance at winning a prize. Each calendar purchase includes a raffle ticket for a prize drawing for a certain amount of cash.

Some groups do just one prize drawing from the raffle tickets. Others offer a continuing series of cash drawings, usually on a weekly basis.

Prices for cash calendar fundraisers are often in the $20-$25 range, depending on the cash prize drawing. A weekly prize of $50 or $100 is common, with larger prizes of $500 or $1,000 being offered at some stages of these fundraisers.

Raffle Ideas Wrap-up

A fundraiser raffle is a great way to raise funds, either as a standalone fundraiser or in conjunction with an fundraising event. For instance, you can add a raffle to a school carnival, a black tie charity event, or even a car wash.

The most important thing is to offer attractive prizes with widespread appeal and price your tickets to maximize total revenue. It doesn’t do any good to overprice the tickets because total ticket sales will suffer. Choose the right price point to stimulate impulse buys.

Most people will make an emotion-based decision to participate and then justify it with logic, so make sure your raffle prizes seem really attractive in comparison to the ticket cost.

Sales Training - How to Use Cialdini’s Tool of Authority in Sales (Part 2)

June 23rd, 2009 by johncampbell

Continuing on from our theme donatecar increasing your authority in the eyes of your prospects.

Please remember authority is just communication that flows from your emotional state. Your prospect will respond with more trust, less objections and greater commitment so these tools are vital.

Mind Reading:

You can appear to be a mind reader using a technique called cold reading. This works by appearing to understand you prospect at a deeper level by using ambiguous language they cannot disagree with:

‘Hello [Marketing Contact Prospect], I wanted to have a conversation with you because I believe that as well as you may be doing now; in order to stay competitive, you wouldn’t want to miss out on strategies to measurably increase your return on your current marketing activity.
There isn’t a marketing contact in business who wouldn’t want to improve their return on their current marketing activity. What obvious benefit claims could you use to create rapport? For example:

* Increasing Sales.

* Improving Sales Conversation Rates.

* Improving Return of Investment.

* Increase Market Share.

* Reducing Budget Wastage

Ensure you can fully explain how your product will perform your stated benefit

Other examples include:

* I don’t know whether you have yet noticed how we could help you [insert mind-blowing feature] …

* I ‘m not sure whether you’re interested in [huge benefit 1] or [huge benefit 2] …

* I’m sure that you like me are the type for person who wants [benefit you know they will want]

* Haven’t you ever asked yourself if it’s possible to [future result you know they would want]

If you can demonstrate that you understand your prospect’s biggest frustration, your prospect will keep listening.

The Power State

How you use your physiology directly influences your state. Through these simple steps you can create a ‘Power State’ and immediately recall it at any time you want to:

Creating a Power State

* Close your eyes - Go back to a time you felt powerful.

* Notice how you use your body, breathe etc.

* Find a way to intensify the state you feel.

* Give the state a colour (Visual) e.g. Blue may be a colour for a relaxed power state, red for a more passionate power - it’s up to you.

* Give the state a sound or phrase (Auditory) - Like “YEAH” or “VICTORY IS MINE” whatever you feel.

* Give the state a texture (Kinaesthetic) how does it feel? It may feel like a shockwave or a pulsating buzz or something soft again this is your choice.

* Congratulations you have a Power Symbol which you can recall in order to symbolise your most powerful ‘Power State’.

Creating a Trigger for your Power State

Go back to that state and when you reach the peak of the state perform a unique action - This may be pumping your fist and saying ‘YES’, or clicking fingers on both hands or anything you feel will work for you. However it must be unique so that your brain will create the link between the state you want and the trigger.

The reason I focus on this, is because all of your most incredible resources flow when you are in your most powerful state.

When you focus on using the tool of authority, you will be seen as more of an expert in your field. You will build quicker rapport and gain more referrals. All of which makes sales far more enjoyable - Go get ‘em!
